Where is your massage facility located?
Our 1,300 sq foot massage facility is located in Wauwatosa (also known as Tosa), a community that is about 4 miles from downtown Milwaukee.
We are close to the Medical Center of Wisconsin (MCW), the Research Park, The Milwaukee Zoo and the Mayfair Mall (less than 2 miles South of the Mall).
Our 5 therapy room office is located on the 2nd floor at 611 North Mayfair Road (aka Highway 100), Wauwatosa, WI 53226. We are in the same building as Homeowners Concept so look for their big red sign as a landmark!
We are located 1 block North of Bluemound Road and 1 block South of Wisconsin Avenue. If you know where Mo's Irish Pub is then you'll be able to find us easily!
You can get here from I-94 by taking exit 304 (Northbound) for Hwy 100. Drive North and continue to follow WI-100 for about 1/2 a mile. Make a U-turn at Wisconsin Ave. Our offices are located in the tan building on the West side of the street (the 2nd building South of the Mobil gas station).
We usually have plenty of parking, and you can enter through the front or back entrance. Please remember that appointments are required, so please call 414-899-1905 to reserve your session today! Or, use our online booking tool for appointments a day or more ahead of time.
Do you have a large staff of massage therapists?
No, we have a small team of licensed therapists available on a by-appointment-only basis.
They have busy lives, so we only have them come in when they have an appointment.
That's why it is best to call or book your appointment online at least 24 hours in advance. Same day appointments are more challenging to arrange, especially last-minute ones.
We focus on assembling the best licensed massage therapists in Milwaukee to serve our clients. Each has a different approach to massage and different types of touch. We will always do our best to make sure your therapist is just right for your therapeutic needs.
When necessary, we also bring in massage professionals whom we trust and respect as independent contractors for specialty modalities such as Reiki.
Are your massages gender-specific?
No. We offer our professional full-body massage expertise to both women and men. Both male and female clients appreciate our expert touch, style and empathy. Massage is essential for everyone and we welcome all sexes and orientations.
Do you offer massages for pregnant women?
Yes. Also, known as pregnancy massage or prenatal massage, we offer pregnant women 60 minute and 90 minute full body relaxation massages.
The big difference is your positioning while we work on your back and glutes. You get into a side lying position and we use pillows and bolsters to keep you comfortable. Pregnant mothers love our massages since they relieve stress and offer a soothing, comforting, healing touch.
How long are your sessions?
Our massages are 60 minutes, 90 minutes or 120 minutes long.
We recommend at least 90 minutes sessions (when time permits) because they give us a chance to invest more time with each muscle group, focus on the problem areas and enhance your outcomes.
But the 2-hour session is truly perfect for those who want to escape the worries of the world and get every muscle worked on while enjoying a state of bliss. It's a great value too!
We also suggest getting massages 1 to 2 times per month for preventative health and body maintenance and for stress management purposes.
What are the benefits of your massages?
Our special techniques, developed through years of study and practice, reduce pain caused by tight muscles, whisk away stress and help to eliminate pent-up frustration.
Ongoing massage can help with many conditions, including:
- High Blood Pressure
- Upper and Lower Back Pain
- Neck/Shoulder Pain
- Moodiness and Short Temper
- Difficulty concentrating
- Sore Legs/Butt/Feet/Hands
- Overall Muscle Tightness
Who benefits from your massages?
Executives. Medical Professionals. Sales and Marketing Professionals. Customer Service Reps. Educators. Homemakers. Students. Business Owners. People in stressful jobs, or who sit down all day or have to stand for hours.
ur massages are also indicated for those who are experiencing high stress, or need to calm down prior to taking a test, making a big decision, participating in a sporting event or preparing for a job interview.
Our massages are also a great therapy for those who are seeking an effective weight management tool since massage can decrease cortisol levels and provide an alternative to binge eating.
Who should not get massages?
Massage is not recommended ( is contraindicated) for people who are sick with the common cold, have skin diseases or are carrying a contagious conditions (i.e. chickenpox, tuberculosis). People prone to severe mood swings should not be massaged unless under medical supervision. Extreme caution should be observed for people with certain bone conditions such as Osteoporosis, because they are more frail and prone to injury.
When a person is injured, the area injured is initially avoided completely until adequate healing has occurred. Afterwards, massage can be an excellent way to loosen adhesions, mitigate scar tissue, lengthen contracted muscles and improve range of movement.
Some conditions (like cancer or respiratory ailments) require a doctor's approval before we would massage you. Other conditions warrant avoidance of the specific affected area but allow massage elsewhere on the body. For a more thorough list of contraindications click here.
Are your massages erotic?
No. Although our massages transcend ordinary therapeutic massage, they are not erotic. It is difficult to describe our massages with a single word. Unfortunately, the word "sensual" gets a bad rap these days.
So, a few words that you might apply to our massages are; delectable, scintillating, healing, restorative, energizing, compassionate, soul-to-soul, unrushed, multi-sensory, holistic, delightful, addictive, engaging, inspired and passionate.
The massage experiences connects all of your senses.
The touch of your practitioner's hands and elbows. The feel of smooth oils. The sound of rhythmic breathing and soft music designed to relax your body.
The reassuring voice guiding you through your session. The scent of essential oils. The sight of flickering candles in a darkened room. The softness of luxury linens.
In fact, think about how it feels when...
- someone washes your hair and massages your scalp
- you get a sincere compliment
- goose bumps form when you read or hear something unexpected
- someone scratches your itchy back just right
- you bite into a warm doughnut or perfectly cooked steak
- hot cocoa slips down your throat on a cold winter day
- your nose catches the scent of the air when it's about to rain
- you lean over to smell a newly blossomed rose
Enjoy the experience!
Whether this is your first time getting a massage, or you've been getting professional massages for a long time, you'll agree that our massages are better than...chocolate. We're Milwaukee's Best Massage for a reason!
What should I do prior to the massage?
Avoid eating a heavy meal. For our benefit, avoid eating heavy amounts of beans, broccoli, sugars, eggs or gas-producing foods. Increase your water intake.
Also, please take a shower and do a quick armpit smell check before you leave your home or workplace. Avoid dousing yourself with cologne or perfume.
If this is your first visit to Milwaukee's Best Massage? Please read, fill out, print and bring in the intake form with you on your 1st visit. A completed and signed intake form is required for all clients. It helps us to know about any current conditions and areas to focus on during the massage and sets expectations so that you and your therapist can be relaxed yet professional throughout the session.
Thanks for your consideration.
What are your rates for massage?
Our current rates for relaxation massage are:
- $70 (60 Minutes)
- $95 (90 Minutes)
- $150 (120 Minute luxury massages)
We do charge a little more for deep-tissue massages since they tend to be more physically demanding and exhausting for our therapists. A 60-minute deep tissue massage is $90. A 90-minute deep tissue massage is $120 and a 2-hour deep tissue (not all of our therapists offer this one) is $150. Our deep tissue massage feel amazing and are worth every cent!
You can look at our specialty massage page for additional pricing for four-hands and couples massages.
Should I tip you or give you a gratuity?
A gratuity is an added token of appreciation. If the massage exceeded your expectations then feel free to show your gratuity. We won't be offended or turn it down! If you want to give your therapist a gratuity and are not certain about an amount, consider using 20% of the total as a general guideline.
The greatest forms of appreciation you can show, however, are the referrals of your coworkers, friends and family. Thank you for your trust!
